Who We Are

Our story started in 2018 when Drew ‘The Dreamer’ Parkinson decided to follow in his grandfathers footsteps and start his own design business, originally known as Winthrop Ltd. It soon became clear that he needed more help and roped in his High School mate Josh ‘Powerhouse’ Pirika-Coburn as a co-director.

As the nicknames suggest they each play a different part in the design process. Drew will work closely with clients to develop a concept design and liaise with other consultants, while Josh is the engine room of the operation producing high quality plans and specifications.

After becoming increasingly frustrated with the state of new builds that were accessible to the everyday Kiwi they decided to rebrand as Kererū Studios with a new ethos - Delivering high quality, considered architectural design that responds sympathetically to the environment it exists within.
