Our role as Architectural Designers extends far beyond simply arranging a building into useable spaces. From the outset we work to understand you and your family, how you live and what’s important in a home to you.
We will examine the environment you intend to build in, understand the vernacular of your site and establish the context of your project.
This holistic design is then transferred into the technical realm. What good is an idea if it can’t be realised as a buildable home?

Our pricing schedule is in line with other Architectural Designers and Architects in Aotearoa. We use a percentage based system which ensures the design costs are relative to the build cost of the house. Depending on the level of specification and complexity of the design our fee will usually range from 4% to 10% of the build cost.
You will also need to allow for additional consultants fees such as Engineers and Surveyors as well as Council fees. As part of the process we will tailor a total design cost estimate to keep you informed throughout the process.

There are many different factors which influence how long the design process can take. District Plan rules, Restrictive Covenants and Property Titles can create delays.
Part of our process is to identify these early on and work with you to develop a realistic and achievable timeline.
For a straightforward design you should allow between 6 and 12 months from the first consultation to Building Consent being issued.
